Northern Adirondacks Loop

Route Description

From the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge, connect to Route 37 and head northeast along the St. Lawrence River toward Massena and Hogansburg. Home of Titus Mountain Ski Area, the charming town also offers fishing charter excursions and an array of arts and cultural opportunities. Continue on to Hogansburg, home of the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino, which features hundreds of gaming tables, card games, and a full-service restaurant and bar. Stay for a day or overnight, and continue on Route 37 toward Malone on Route 30. In Malone, enjoy shopping, dining and museums.

Take a quick side trip on Route 11 and stop at the Almanzo Wilder Farm on your way out of town, or continue south on Route 30 toward Paul Smiths. Stretch your legs on the Paul Smith's College Visitor Interpretive Center's nature trails, and continue riding through Lake Clear, around countless lakes and ponds, passing by the Saranac Lakes Wild Forest. Head west toward Tupper Lake and stop at the Wild Center, a museum featuring an array of natural attractions, including two playful otters. Tupper boasts a scenic shoreline ideal for a picnic, as well as shops, historic sites and a variety of dining and lodging options.

Continue riding on Route 3 along the Carry Falls Reservoir, past the Snow Bowl State Forest and Higley Flow State Park toward Colton. Grab a bite to eat, fuel up and continue riding west on Route 68 through Pierrepont, toward Canton, home of St. Lawrence University and SUNY Canton. Stroll down charming streets offering restaurants and shops, or head to the Grasse River Heritage Trail or Silas Wright House for a done of local history. Continue out of town on Route 68 and reconnect to your starting point in Ogdensburg.
