Eastern Adirondacks Loop

Route Description

Begin your journey on Route 9N in Elizabethtown and head west to West Port, and turn south onto route 22 toward Port Henry. Fuel up in Port Henry and continue driving along the southern tip of Lake Champlain toward Ticonderoga. Enjoy the view from Crown Point, which overlooks Lake Champlain and stop in the Penfield Museum before continuing south toward Fort Ticonderoga to tour “America’s most Historic Fort.” Continue on Route 9N south around the western shore of Lake George. Enjoy an ice cream cone at The Wind Chill and the unimpeded scenic views across Lake George. Ride south through Hague, North Bolton and stop in Bolton Landing, home of the expansive Sagamore Resort and a charming downtown.

Fuel up and continue into Lake George Village, for an entertaining and attractions-filled activity. Visit Million Dollar Beach and the array of breweries, restaurants and shopping along Canada Street before continue north on Route 9 toward Warrensburg. Home of the “world’s largest garage sale,” Warrensburg also hosts an annual Bike Week each June.

Ride north along Route 9 to Pottersville, around Look Lake and the shores of Schroon Lake, stopping for a bite or a an evening of entertainment at the Seagle Music Colony, or a tour through the Natural Stone Bridge and Caves. Flanagan’s Pub and Grill, as well as Sticks & Stones Wood Fired Bistro & Bar offer relaxed dining.

The last section of this route winds up Route 9 back toward Elizabethtown, home of the Cobble Hill Bar & Restaurant Motel.
